Awareness Through Movement (ATM) is a group class and an opportunity to attend and attune to our whole selves through gentle and mindful movements. You are invited to prioritize the “how” of movement; learning to become your own teacher by actively listening to your sense of comfort and ease.
Each dynamic lesson encourages one to pause in the space between intention and action, cultivating a greater understanding of ourselves. Feldenkrais is an experimental experience, rich with benefits that extend far beyond greater ease and elegance in movement which is unique to each individual. Reported benefits include a greater endurance, relief from pain, more confidence, greater resiliency and less stress.
These gentle group lessons are designed to untangle ourselves from old movement habits and achieve potent effects in terms of strength, flexibility and ease. Novelty and complexity of explorations nurture our brain’s plasticity by inviting a conscious awareness of movement. Slowly, we come to understand how to move with more ease and less effort in our everyday life.
ATM classes are accessible and open to all abilities and ages. I will guide you through a sequence of movements via sitting in a chair or on the ground, lying or walking.
Awareness Through Movement group lessons are enhanced with previous individual (Functional Integration) lessons, although not required.

Through group classes and individual integrative sessions Jess has led me through countless movement explorations of my body, focusing on my particular movement patterns.
